Nutfree/Dairyfree Bark
In our house, we call it "Shabbos Bark". I like to serve it with non-dairy ice-cream. You won't believe it's nutfree, pareve, and so simple to make.Put some in a bowl and watch them disappear.
Nutfree Bark
13 (rectangles)pareve graham crackers (honey or cinnamon)
1 stick non-dairy margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
tiny pinch of salt
2 3oz bittersweet chocolate bars (like Elite) *can substitute for 1 bag of chocolate chips
yield- approx 2 dozen bark shards
Preheat oven to 375
Line a baking sheet/cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Place 12 graham cracker rectangles in a single layer. Fit them closely together in the pan without spaces.Melt margarine and brown sugar in a saucepan till bubbly. Add a scant pinch of salt.
Pour bubbly mixture all over graham crackers.Bake for 5 minutes at 375.Remove from oven. Immediately, place bittersweet chocolate bars on top of hot graham crackers. Return to oven for 1 minute. Remove and quickly spread the chocolate all over the graham crackers.Crush 1 graham cracker and crumble over chocolate topping. Place in Freezer for 40 minutes.Remove from freezer. Break into shards and store in freezer in airtight container.
