Infant Food Allergies and Eczema

Infants who have eczema may be more prone to developing food allergies! The researchers at King's College London and the University of Dundee found  a correlation between the severity of eczema and food sensitivity. This study suggests that when the skin barrier is compromised (like in eczema) the skin's immune cells are more susceptible to allergens. Perhaps repairing the skin barrier could reduce the risk of food allergies?
