Yom Kippur is an amazing Yom Tov.! How wonderful that G-d gives us 1 day a year that's like a "spirtual car wash". Through abstention from physical pleasures (like eating) and connecting to G-d through prayers we truly become like angels. In order to have the physical stamina for this spiritually uplifting day follow the tips below:
- Eat properly in the days preceding the fast
- Drink plenty of water the entire day before
- Eat high water content fruits and vegetables
- Eat high carb foods for long term energy
- Avoid spicy and greasy foods before fasting
- Avoid caffeine, salt, and alcohol before fasting
- Prepare your post fast meal in advance so it's ready
